A belated goodbye

Well, crap. Old news, but...

Apparently, Flight-Plan, a company whose game I'm playing right now, closed their doors sometime August 2010. That surprised me. Those of you out there may recognize the names Black Matrix and Summon Night (can't remember which seiyuu was a fan of that series). Overseas, they developed Poison Pink (Eternal Poison).

I noticed that they never released a PS3 game, maybe 'cause the thing was just too hard for them or too expensive for them to program. Got me, but their last game was released for the PS2 in... 2010. Kinda surprising people are still developing for the PS2, as it tops the last official release of a Dreamcast game: the Dreamcast came out in 1998, Triggerheart Exelica and Karous came out in 2007. The PS2 by comparison come out in 2000, and ten years later, people're still releasing for it... though I suppose I should also consider when each was discontinued (which would mean the DC would win). Suspiciously enough, the last Playstation game to ever come out in Japan, according to Wikipedia, was Black Matrix 00, again ten years after the console was first sold. Hmm.

This actually makes a bit sad, as I kinda enjoyed some of their stuff. In particular, I actually liked Dragon Shadow Spell, and the first Summon Night was an enjoyable romp, if not deep.

Rest well, guys, you did good.
