And a happy new year?

So, like how long has it been since I updated this blog? It's been a while.

Lately, I've been playing Demon's Souls. The game's pretty good, but at the moment I admittedly find PvP to be... annoying. Maybe it's because I can't really do anything yet except run up and start slashing, or maybe it's because things get a little chaotic when people start rolling around all over the place... and I think it has something to do with the fact that even when I win, I have to repair my stuff, which costs more Souls than I'd like.

Other than that, is the game hard? Yes... at least to a point. Maybe it's because I'm only starting (pretty much), and it's challenging... but as far as the hardest game I've ever played that still handled its difficulty well? I'd put it a step or two above Dragon Quarter, but a few steps below Devil May Cry 3 (the normal American release). So far, the bosses are a little scary and pretty imaginative (I'm always thinking, "What IS that thing?!?" when I face them for the first time), but I'm not losing to them 10 times in a row before I learn them unlike DMC3.

I still do have 7th Dragon 2020 sitting around, and I really want to play it, but before I do, I'd like to finish up some unfinished business in Grand Knights History. I never really made any really strong teams in that game, mainly because I know the amount of time that has to be invested into making really top-tier teams. I don't think I'll go that far (training up Knights one at a time), but I'm thinking I might go for a few teams all trained up at once. It's a lot easier to do it that way, as it takes 14 items as opposed to 72... items that you only get after finishing a quest. If you figure that each quest takes around 20 minutes if you include all the random fights and hunting for bounty pawns, you can see how much effort and sanity it takes to make characters really good. But some people do that.

So, I've got one team down more or less, and they're out reclaiming all the items I've used getting them there. When they're done, I've got three more teams lined up. On the plus side, I'm not getting my doors kicked in online anymore. When these guys are done, then it's time for some 7th Dragon rockage.

... Regardless of where I am in Demon's Souls.
