Owning the Tokyo Tower is the in thing to do

So, apparently I spoke too soon when I said the Music Bomb shirt was too large for me. It's size XXL, yeah, and I assumed that no matter where you go, that's the size of giants in whatever area of the world you're in. However, in this instance, when they said XXL, I think they meant Asian children's XXL. Which means it actually fits me. Yes, I am a giant among Asian children.

But, I actually realized that now that I'm playing 7th Dragon 2020, I have pics of the unboxing that I never posted up. So, here we go.

Here's the box, and the preorder bonus. The box contains all the cool little extras that you get, and the preorder bonus... is actually a mini-art book containing mostly materials of the final designs of characters, with a mini-soundtrack. Sorry, using my phone camera as I'm too cheap for even a point-and-shoot.

So, here's the art book opened up and a shot of the mini-soundtrack. Yes, that's Miku you see on the CD, as she cameos in the game. Looks like her role is really just a cameo, she appears in the game and you let her stay at headquarters, but it doesn't look like she's doing much plot-wise. However, she does unlock DIVA mode, which is an alternate BGM soundtrack for the game. It's kinda cool, as you'll have Miku singing all the game's tracks. Most of the time, she'll be belting out La La La and Aaaaaah, but there are one or two tracks which actually have lyrics. The only one downside... is the regular battle music, which you hear all the time. I vastly prefer the regular battle music as the DIVA battle music is kinda cacophonic, which is a really... really big shame.

The box contains a bunch of goodies, but all you'll see here are the game box, another unopened box within this box containing more goodies, PSP decoration stickers in a stack, and some canalphones.

Opening up the box within the box reveals a protective case for your PSP. Why they included that with a bunch of decorative stickers that will never be seen if you put it on... well I don't know, but here's a shot of the stickers too. Also, the canalphones.

Fuzzy close-up of the canalphones, where you can see the game's logo on one bud, and the in-game hero organization Murakumo logo on the other. The phones actually... are very obviously bonus material, as they're pretty muffled. They do best, unsuprisingly enough, in electronic music, including synthesized stuff, but they're still a pretty cheap set of earbuds.

All in all, I'm really enjoying 7th Dragon 2020, but then I really liked the original. The futuristic sequel is much like the first, although I actually feel it's a little more constrained. I think imageepoch was fighting against the capabilities of the PSP, and maybe this sort of sequel came a generation too soon. Still a good game, though, perhaps I'll review it at one point in time.

And of course, since I usually like recreating characters from anime series as best as I can, I'm running around with Ayase Aragaki from OreImo, and Natsumi Asou from Sketchbook. Unfortunately, neither of their voice actors are in the game, and there's not even one who speaks Fukuoka-ben (let alone Kansai-ben), so I had to make do with other voice actors.
