Time is running free

Well, I got my copy of the e-Capcom limited edition of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen finally. There's actually a story behind my acquisition of it, but I'm really not up for telling it right now as it involves a lot of angst.

So, I'll just share a bunch of pics about the unboxing. Mind you, the worst part of getting this is that I'm still not done with Arcanum Knights (which I think I'm close to a regular clear) so I'm probably not going to play this right away. But, I can still enjoy all the little extras I got.

In all honesty, part of the reason I got the limited edition is because I liked the original game so much and not really because of the extras. The original game came with a dragon statue... but well, that was too much for me. This limited edition though, does come with some cool extras.

From left to right, there's the DLC download code printed on something that doubles as a bookmark, a book cover, and a big case (not for the game).

Not much to say about the bookmark, but on the back of it is a download code for some fighter equipment. If I'm remembering right, it's the rings that unlock a single EX skill as long as you have it equipped, but well... I play Magic Archer, and Luka plays Mage. Not a lot of use out of those.

So... moving on to the book cover. This wasn't too big a thing to make me really want the limited edition by itself. Even more, it's only sized for small Japanese books, so there's not a lot I can use with it. I think it was the generic preorder bonus though, so anyone who preordered should have this.

It's actually a pretty nice book cover. It's cozy on the inside, fairly smooth on the outside, and has nice artwork on it. I'd have liked it more if I could have used it for my manga, but eh...

The big draw about the limited edition is the cool looking watch that it comes with. It's a pocket watch, and it even comes with its own case. Now, I'm not sure why the case doesn't also contain all the other extras (probably because they were concerned about size?), but it looks remarkably like a book, except it has no pages. Still good for decoration, perhaps.

Even if I'm not sure about the build quality of it on the inside, the thing's sleek. Looks classy. I'd wear this.

The game itself comes seperate. It doesn't have a cool case, it's just packed along with the rest of the goods and sent out.

Looks like even Japan's skimping out on instruction manuals nowadays. I remember when they were really interesting, really artistic pieces of reading material, but this one is literally six pages long.

When I get down to it, I probably should have ordered Raychell's L>R album as well, which has the game's theme song, Coils of Light, on it. I heard a bit of it in some of the trailers, and the music and her voice is just stunning. Want more of that. Maybe my next import run, I'll include it.

... And by the way, it's getting closer to Fire o'clock.
