Baroque and Beats

So, I got a few things in the mail, and one thing not in the mail.

Now, I know I got the American Collector's Edition of Devil May Cry, but I found out there was some missing content in the Japanese version that wasn't in the American. As minor as it was, it bugged me pretty bad, and so I recently rebought it, getting the Japanese version. As I'm writing this, I'm busy rocking out to said Japanese-exclusive content: Drink It Down, by L'Arc en Ciel. Yes, that's all I got the game again for, but I really do like that song.

The other thing in the mail for me were a pair of Koss KSC75's, costing me all of... 14 bucks or something off Amazon.

I've kinda wanted do try clip-ons because I haven't ever before, and I heard that these things were absolutely amazing for the price. I haven't side-by-side tested them yet (except beside my ESW-9's, hardly a fair comparison), but I am actually quite surprised at the sound quality of these things. They've got some flaws, but... I'll get into them later, when I have more time to compare them to my Meelec's and Nuforces.

About the last pair of phones I wanna take out for a test drive are the Koss Porta Pros (around $30-40), since I hear those are also amazing for the price, though they are a bit dated. They're still in acceptable experimental expenditure range.

And in other, not mail news, I got myself a used copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 at the local Gamestop. Apparently, it's got the Japanese version on the disc as well, as it detects the region of my PS3, and changes the text accordingly. Most obvious change? Hsien-ko is called Lei-Lei, both in the in-game text and by the characters' voices themselves. In fact, when I played my friend's copy on his PS3, nobody ever called her by name - they just said something generic. And here I was thinking there was so little text in MvC3 it wasn't worth getting the Japanese version to keep my Japanese up, but here it was. How nice.

Well, it's off to DMC4 as it's done installing (for the second time), and apparently I can't use my American save. Bleh. Unfortunately, my good old GeniaTech V2VPro just died (yes, I'm too cheap for TVs, they're expensive), making me use my backup - an experiment in component VGA boxes that focus more on HD than SD. I actually didn't use this box as my main, as after I found out how much skewed aspect ratios bugged me (as in, squishing a 16:9 image to a 4:3 monitor), I attempted to use it outputting regular 480p. Well, the maker of the box didn't really concentrate on the video quality of 480p signals since my old VGA box in S-Video output better quality video. So, I used that instead... but now it's gone, sadly. I shall miss it.

Which reminds me... I really need to get a new widescreen monitor.
