Otakon 2013 - Sunday (Departure)

The last day of Otakon went about the same as every other last day at (insert con here) - a brief dealer's room run, time wasting, and departure.

It was a bit of a bummer that I didn't get tickets to Yoko Kanno's Piano Me concert, but that was because I got my plane tickets before her concert was scheduled. As it turns out, her concert would have been from 13:00 to 15:00 - and I needed to leave for my flight at 14:30. Maybe I should've taken a later flight, but eh.

Apparently, she also had a previously unscheduled signing that I missed on Friday. Geh.

The only thing I bought at the dealer's room today was a Lingyin figure from Infinite Stratos - I don't think she gets enough attention myself, but she's pretty cool. I don't think I'll be seeing another figure of her anytime soon, though I suppose maybe the second season of the show might prove me wrong. It'd be nice to have a high quality figure of her.

After my dealer's room run though, I mostly just walked around, had lunch, and snapped pictures of cosplayers. There were some good ones, as always, though I'll have to apologize to the Persona 4 group. My camera was doing some weird things at the time, so after fiddling with it and attempting to take a picture (twice) I thanked them for their time and headed off. I wish I could've taken that one.

My experience overall was pretty good, and I enjoyed the con a lot. Most of it I spent by myself, which... at times was a little bummer, but seeing as nobody I knew was going to the con for the same things I was, it couldn't really be helped. There were times I was glad I was by myself though, since that just makes things worry-free - no need to ask anyone what they wanna do, or no need to try and break from the group to go where you want... it's all on you, and it's really relaxing.

And well, as I write this, there's only ten days left to my next con Anime Weekend Atlanta. I hope to be one of those cosplayers as well there, unlike this time. We'll see though.
